Mission
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been felt by everyone in Louisiana; particularly individuals in our most vulnerable communities. Public health experts, community advocates and innovative individuals and organizations alike seem to agree that in order to slow the spread of the virus, it is vital to determine:
- Who is sick?
- Who those individuals come into contact with?
- Who else might have gotten sick as a result of contact?
We believe there is an opportunity to leverage our intellectual and technical assets to incite others to help develop a solution that supports our community leaders and public health officials to keep our communities safe and healthy.
Objectives
Our aim is to reduce the spread and transmission of COVID-19 by 50% in Louisiana, thus reducing total number of cases and deaths. Through Nightingale we aim to:
Support
Gather technical and intellectual experts to collaborate on an effective solution.
Identify
Target individuals who possess trust and leadership in key communities.
Empower
Create tools that allow these individuals to privately and securely gather data on affected persons and those at risk.

In the spirit of collaboration and tapping into the most talented resources out there, we're hosting and building NIGHTINGALE in an Open Source manner.
